Councilman Miranda: “I am honored to be another wingman in Mike Garcia’s squadron.”

(Santa Clarita, CA) – Today, Santa Clarita Councilman and U.S. Air Force Veteran Bill Miranda announced his endorsement of Mike Garcia for Congress.

“Mike Garcia knows firsthand the duty of putting service over self,” said Councilman Miranda. “Our community needs a fighter in Washington and who better than a former Navy Pilot who served our district and nation honorably. Mike Garcia had the backs of our soldiers in battle, and he’ll have the backs of his constituents in Congress. I am honored to be another wingman in Mike Garcia’s squadron.”

Bill Miranda has served as Santa Clarita Councilman since 2017. A community leader and prominent voice in the city, Miranda previously was the CEO of the Santa Clarita Valley Latino Chamber of Commerce. After serving in the United States Air Force, Miranda went on to have a successful business career as well as becoming a published author, television and radio host, and editor. Bill Miranda has been a respected member of the Santa Clarita community for over 34 years.

“I am deeply honored to have the endorsement and support from a such a respected community leader as Bill Miranda,” said Mike Garcia. “Councilman Miranda served our nation and continues to honorably do so in our community. I’m proud to have him on our team as we take this fight to Washington and protect our country from the dangerous socialist policies Katie Hill and her liberal colleagues seek to force on all Americans.”

Mike Garcia believes in a strong national defense and is a pro-business, pro-taxpayer, political outsider with nearly 20 years of service to this country as one of the first Super Hornet strike fighter pilots in the Navy and is a highly decorated US Naval Officer.  Garcia is a first-generation American whose father immigrated to the US in 1959 and has lived in the 25th district for nearly all of his life.  Garcia lives in Santa Clarita with his wife and two sons. He was recently named to the National Republican Congressional Committee’s Young Guns program as one of the top 40 GOP candidates in the country.

The 25th district encompasses the cities of Santa Clarita, Simi Valley, Palmdale, Lancaster and the northern part of the San Fernando Valley.  The median income is $76,866 and the ethnic breakdown is 45.8% White, 8% Black, 7.7% Asian and 35.3% Hispanic.  The only Democrat, prior to 2018, to carry the district in the last 18 years was Obama, by less than 1%.
